Back in December, when I first met Ali and Steven at their engagement session, I knew this was going to be a special Wichita Catholic wedding. It was going to be intimate, sweet, and completely centered around God. I really do love these simple and centered weddings. It cuts away so much of the extravagant things that a lot of weddings now pay for. But instead is so grounded, so intentional, and focused on each other. It makes my job so much easier, because are so much fewer things to focus on, and can instead focus on the important things.
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church was the church that where both the Greggs and the Farleys went to church together and where Alli and Steven grew up in. Alli and Steven have known each other for a very long time! So getting married at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church made perfect sense.
In the short time that I have gotten to know them, I know that
…they are seriously one of the absolute sweetest couples.
…Ali is almost never seen without her signature smile and laughter.
…Steven loves Lord of the Rings (must see the cake)
…they have the MOST supportive friends and family.
… their families have known each other for a long time.
…Steven is perfectly cool, calm, and collected all the time, but is very good at a sweet little giggle kiss while holding Alli.
In Ali’s bridal details, she had a couple of special items that she was wearing for her wedding day. Her shoes were her mother’s wedding shoes. And the first piece of jewelry that Steven gave her.
At their reception, they had a gorgeous wedding cake, but also probably the coolest groom’s cake I have seen. It was themed after the Lord of the Rings movies and you care just going to have to check it out.
