I have so many things to share about Abby and Eli’s beautiful wedding in Pratt. I have known Abby since we were just little kids and I know her and her family from this beautiful church that I grew up in. It has been about 10 years since I have last seen her, so I was so happy when she reached out to have me photograph her wedding in Pratt. Going into this wedding I knew I would have some serious flashbacks, since I haven’t been to that church since I left for college, and then moved to Wichita. But it all came flashing back to me. Not only the locations but so many people I haven’t seen in such a long time.
The details
The church has these beautiful white pillars on the outside and I have been itching for a long time photograph some wedding portraits there and I finally got my chance! The inside is also beautiful with beautiful windows that let in pretty light. Check out the photos outside the church, I am in love with them!
Abby had such beautiful details for me to capture, some with so much sentimental value. Her ring’s diamond was her grandmother’s. It is such a beautiful ring! Her dress was her mother’s, altered by Joni’s Stitch by Stitch and made to fit Abby. It has such beautiful detailing in the front and a gorgeous train that just goes on for days with more details on the ends. Really such a beautiful dress and I am so happy she was able to use it.
I am not sure how Abby planned her wedding, because she was in West Africa for the last few years, and that was where she met Eli! In the short time I have gotten to know her again, knowing that she flew across the world to teach children in a different, less privileged country doesn’t really come as a surprise. Abby is such a sweet and generous person and would do anything for her friends and family. You can just tell how much Abby and Eli are in love by looking at their wedding portraits. Half the time I couldn’t even get them to stop gazing into each other’s eyes and stealing kisses in between poses. I seriously have so many gorgeous portraits of the two of them.
The house they got ready in is called the Fincham house and is a beautiful country home. I love the limestone background it gives in their portraits. They had the ceremony at First United Methodist Church with the reception help at the Pratt County Fair Building.
