A silver lining that has come from Covid, I believe, is that having smaller, intimate weddings has become much more common and acceptable. I love backyard weddings, they tend to be more stress-free, I get to meet more of the family members and talk to more of their friends.
I knew we were going to hit it off when I took their engagement photos. Because Eric’s last name was Sidebottom and they named one of their dogs Neville. Any other Harry Potter fans out there? I also met all their dogs the day of the wedding, so much fluff and cuteness!
Kellie and Eric had a perfect October backyard wedding in Hutchinson, KS. Surrounded by only their closest friends and family. Delicious food made by their parents and they even ordered in pizza. How does it get better than that? It was one of the most relaxing wedding evenings. Everyone was able to just enjoy their evening, celebrate Kellie and Eric without the pressure of having to do this or that throughout the evening. It really was just beautiful.
One of my favorite things about their wedding was their little flower girl. She was suppose to walk and twirl down the aisle herself, but the week before the wedding, she broke her leg and was put into a cast. The poor little thing! But that didn’t stop her from still rocking her flower girl duties. She was smiling and cheesing the entire way during the wedding party photos and coming down the aisle.
All of the florals? Kellie arranged all the bouquets and boutonnieres herself! Aren’t they just beautiful!
I was so excited to see this whole field right behind their tree line. I knew I had to take their sunset photos in that field. Little did I know that once we got out there, the field was covered with stickers. Big, beautiful tulle wedding dress does not mix well with stickers. Eric and I probably spend a good 10 minutes just picking out stickers after we left the field. Totally worth it though.
Congratulations Kellie and Eric! I am so honoured I could be there to capture your day!
